We are huge fans of the television series, Dream Build on the ABC which showcases Aussies who have
been lucky enough to bring their dream home to life.
The show features ambitious homes which push the boundaries of design
and architecture to create something that is truly inspiring and cutting-edge.
We even spotted a few episodes featuring dream homes that incorporate
Fielders products – making us very proud to see our own innovations making these inventive ideas a reality.
Episode two, which features an unusual home built around the ideal
place to store a car upon a steep block of land in the Adelaide Hills, was
created by talented architect Damian Campagnaro and utilised Fielders Standing
Seam for the unique façade, fixed expertly by a specialist European
contractor. Since its completion, the house has become a recognisable icon in the
area thanks to its distinct futuristic aesthetic making it appear to be a
‘floating apartment’ or something you would see in the Jetsons!
Fielders Aramax FreeSpan, which has a profile that enables roof
sheeting to span long unsupported distances, also featured in the episode
titled the ‘Beach Shack’. The episode centres on a home in Queensland built by a
couple who enjoyed many fond memories camping over the years in the bushland
location 100m from beach.
Built and designed by Simon Laws, the artistic home took on an
industrial shape inspired by a nearby sugar cane mill and certainly has its own
distinct character complimented by luxurious features. We have to say,
the pod-like living room is definitely the highlight of this beautiful design
and in particular the circular window which almost looks like an aircraft
relic.
